MotoGP returns to Termas de Río Hondo for the second round of the 2025 season, and Enea Bastianini is eager to get back on track. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider sees Argentina as a great opportunity to continue his upward trajectory, especially after his strong performance at the Thai Grand Prix in Buriram.
Bastianini last raced at Termas de Río Hondo in 2022, missing last year's event due to Argentina’s absence from the calendar. Now, as he prepares for his return, he is optimistic about his chances at the circuit, believing he can be highly competitive.
“I am ready for the Argentina Grand Prix. It will feel nice to return to Termas, my first time since 2022,” Bastianini said in his race preview. “We made a really good step in Thailand, and Sunday’s race was a great moment for us. It was really important for everyone in the team because it shows we are improving.”
Bastianini expects an adjustment period in Argentina
Despite his confidence, Bastianini acknowledges that Friday’s practice sessions will be crucial as he adapts to both the track and his KTM machine. He has not raced in Argentina for a few years, meaning the opening day will be about regaining familiarity with the circuit.
“I haven’t ridden in Argentina for a while, but I know the track well, and I think I can be competitive,” Bastianini explained. “Friday will probably be a bit difficult as we’ll need to understand how the bike behaves on this track. But once we find the right feeling, we can improve and hopefully have another good weekend.”
Bastianini’s performance in Thailand demonstrated his ability to fight near the front, and if he carries that momentum into Argentina, he could be a strong contender. The Termas de Río Hondo circuit is known for its fast, flowing layout, and Bastianini’s riding style could suit its demands.
Can Bastianini challenge the frontrunners?
With his recent progress, Bastianini will be looking to take another step forward in Argentina. While he still faces competition from the likes of Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia, and Jorge Martin, his growing confidence in the KTM package could put him in the mix for a strong result.
As MotoGP gears up for the Argentina Grand Prix, all eyes will be on Bastianini to see if he can continue his impressive form and challenge at the front once again.
