Red Bull KTM Tech3 has embarked on the 2025 MotoGP season with its largest-ever investment, strengthening its partnership with the Austrian manufacturer. Team principal Hervé Poncharal has expressed confidence in the project’s direction, emphasizing the significant strides made by the team and its riders, Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales.

In an interview with GPone, Poncharal highlighted KTM’s continuous development, stating that the RC16 is being refined to suit the unique needs and riding styles of each rider. This adaptation process is crucial as the team aims to maximize the potential of its lineup while competing against MotoGP’s established frontrunners.

Bastianini and Viñales closing in on Acosta

One of the key storylines within KTM this season is the rapid progress of Bastianini and Viñales, who are gradually closing the gap to the team’s rising star, Pedro Acosta. The young Spaniard has set a high benchmark within the KTM camp, but Poncharal believes that his more experienced teammates are steadily catching up.

“We have four riders with four different riding styles,” Poncharal said. “That’s why I’m happy that our two new KTM riders are also making progress and are no longer as overshadowed by Pedro Acosta.”

Bastianini and Viñales both bring extensive experience to KTM, having previously competed for Ducati and Aprilia, respectively. Their adaptation to the RC16 has been a key focus for the team, and early indications suggest that they are finding a rhythm with the machine.

KTM’s investment fueling development

Red Bull KTM Tech3’s commitment to development is evident in the resources allocated to improving the RC16. The bike has undergone continuous refinements to align with the preferences of its riders, ensuring that each competitor has the tools needed to perform at the highest level.

KTM’s investment has not only enhanced the performance of the bike but also contributed to an increasingly competitive team environment. Acosta’s rapid adaptation to MotoGP has raised the bar, pushing Bastianini and Viñales to accelerate their learning curve.

A new chapter for Red Bull KTM Tech3

For Poncharal, the progress made by the team is a testament to KTM’s long-term vision. The Frenchman has overseen the squad’s evolution in recent years and is optimistic about the future. With Bastianini and Viñales gaining confidence on the RC16, Red Bull KTM Tech3 is poised to challenge the leading manufacturers in the championship.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on how Bastianini and Viñales continue their development within KTM’s setup. If their trajectory continues upward, Red Bull KTM Tech3 could emerge as a formidable force in MotoGP, reinforcing its status as a key player in the premier class.
