Raúl Fernández is set to take on the Argentina GP with optimism, eager to continue his adaptation to the Aprilia machine. Despite missing crucial track time due to his injury in pre-season testing at Sepang, the Spanish rider remains determined to make progress. Returning to a circuit with a special history for Aprilia, Fernández hopes to build on his experience from the Thailand GP and take another step forward in his development.

Learning from Thailand

Fernández’s MotoGP campaign started in Thailand, where he showed solid race pace despite not achieving the result he had hoped for. Reflecting on his performance, the Trackhouse Racing rider acknowledged the positives from the opening round.

“Thailand was a good race weekend for us. We didn’t get the result that we wanted, but we had a strong weekend. Overall, I’m happy because also for me it was the first time that I made a long run with the new Aprilia,” Fernández said.

With every lap completed, his understanding of the RS-GP continues to grow, a crucial factor as he looks to close the gap to the frontrunners.

Aprilia’s strong record at Termas de Río Hondo

The Argentina GP presents an exciting challenge for Fernández, who is eager to race at a track where Aprilia has celebrated past success. The Italian manufacturer claimed its first-ever MotoGP victory at Termas de Río Hondo, a milestone that adds motivation to the weekend.

“I feel many positive things, and I know the bike better now, which is also important for me. The Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo is a really good track for Aprilia—they got their first victory there,” he noted.

With the team’s previous success in mind, Fernández is looking to leverage Aprilia’s strengths at the circuit to improve his performance.

A circuit he enjoys

Beyond Aprilia’s history at Termas, Fernández himself enjoys racing at the track, which features a mix of fast corners and flowing sections that suit his riding style. As he continues his adaptation process, the Spaniard is focused on maximizing every session.

“It’s a circuit that I like, and I would like to continue our work from Thailand. I’ll try to do my best, this is the target, and hopefully, the weather will be good, but we will see. We’ll take it day by day, and I’ll always give my maximum,” Fernández added.

With unpredictable weather often playing a role in Argentina, staying adaptable will be key for Fernández as he works to make further progress with his Aprilia.

Eyes on progress in Argentina

The second round of the season marks an important moment for Fernández, who is still recovering from the lost pre-season track time. While the Spaniard remains realistic about his chances, his primary focus is on steady improvement and gaining valuable data for the races ahead.

For Trackhouse Racing and Aprilia, the Argentina GP represents an opportunity to continue their competitive form. As Fernández takes another step forward in his adaptation process, the weekend at Termas de Río Hondo could provide another crucial learning experience as he aims for consistent results throughout the 2025 MotoGP season.
